Artwork by Venkat Raman Singh Shyam. Acrylic on canvas 51″ x 36″. According to the artist “When Pada Dev (Great God) created the world, Ashtangini Mata (Mother Ashtangini) was born from his powers, and she in turn gave birth to the gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, and then asked each one of them to marry her. Brahma and Vishnu refused to do so, and thus she reduced them to ashes. She then went to Mahesh and asked whether he would marry her. This he was ready to do – in a later incarnation, providing she restore Brahma and Vishnu back to life..” Part of the Pardhan Gond paintings exhibition in New Art Exchange, Nottingham.
